Tears of Joy

Tears of Joy
4-30-97
TH

Her hands have held
With gentle grace,
Young hands that wipe
A tear filled face.

Her kiss has healed
The deepest of wounds.
The magic of a love
Started within the womb.

Her eyes have cried
A million tears.
Some for the joys,
Some for the fears.

Her love is glue
For young broken hearts.
Can even see problems
Before they start.

Thank God above
For the warmth within.
The fire of forgiveness
For her own child’s sins.

I stumbled and fell,
Only to be raised,
And encouraged to proceed,
“It’s only a phase.”

I’m a good man…
After all of these years.
But it must have cost
A million tears.

To repay this love…
I’ve wondered how?
The answer’s simple,
Listen up now:

Pass that love
To all that you know.
That is the way
To make Mom glow.
