Have you ever struggled
To find the right words?
When "I Love You"
Sounds like chirping birds.
So sweet the sound
It warms the heart
But to give a bit more
Than to sound like a lark.
There's so much more
On this tongue , on these lips
More than song, more than dance
A sonnet, play or movie script.
Art is an expression of
A time, a feeling, a place,
What I want to say is more
All time, all feelings and all space.
I must have more
Than the span of this life
To show how wonderful
It is with you as my wife.
There must be a way
To express how I care
How every morning
I watch you and stare
All I have is a long song,
"I love you" 's aplenty
And the pledge of my heart
The stares are complimentary
I must preserve my voice
For the song is endless
It's all I have to express it
I feel so helpless.
