Just an old Junkyard Dog. I have seen much, laughed plenty, and cried for my own and loved one's pain and joys. I have lots to say and have thought about a place to put it for years. I am sometimes witty, usually sarcastic, and nearly always positive. Please feel free to comment on anything! Criticism, how you felt, typos... I can take it. Harvey Comes to Texas
Tears of Joy
Spirit of Desire
Missing the Storm
Missing the Storm
TH
4-23-97
I like to listen to the rain,
Wish I was a child again.
Empty stare beyond the window,
Not a worry, wish it were still.
Made me jump, the lightning dashing,
Count the seconds ‘till thunder crashing.
The rain still comes and gives a show,
But it’s not eh same you know.
I wish I could rejuvenate,
Regain the way I would contemplate.
Wish you had your childhood still?
The just look beyond your window sill!
Love Starts as an Infant
Love Starts as an Infant
TH
09-25-98
Love starts as an infant,
Innocent and pure.
A strong hope for a future,
Today’s job…just nurture.
The living example of
Saying “ignorance is bliss”
Lucky to be so blind,
Harsh realities… lucky to miss.
Struggling through lessons,
Dreaded terrible twos.
A padded time of hugs,
Kisses and “I love you’s”
Still latching and holding.
Afraid to let go.
Embracing with all might
To the love that you know.
Slight turn to the world.
“My God! It seems so huge!”
I will face it love,
If you come along too.
Bumps and scrapes,
Stumbles and falls…
Each one a lesson that
Next to the bond are so small.
Turning to the world,
Taking it on.
Now able to run.
No longer a fawn.
Reality stinging…
Burn on the face
Turning to love,
Ahhh! The sweet taste!
Freedom to conquer
The worlds beyond.
Would rather be with you.
Of your love I have grown fond.
The greatest lesson
To be learned is so great…
No need to look beyond,
Under your nose is your fate.
A love one matured,
Continues to grow.
Another lesson learned…
You do reap what you sow.
Just Beyond Reach
In Her Arms
In Her Arms
TH
6-17-97
Bouncing through reality,
Trapped in a little room.
Aimless self-reflection;
Surely destined to doom.
Momentary gaze,
Into these majestic eyes…
Fell into a trance,
Shrunk down to size.
Locks of autumn,
Lips of spring.
Wonder who she is?
Can she make me sing?
Overcoming the impossible,
Spilling out the song.
I think she really likes me!
Have I thought wrong?
Oh my stormy days;
Turning out so bright!
Swore I saw a rainbow
Just the other night.
Could this really be it?
Gosh it’s all so new!
Bit it really feels so good!
I don’t know what to do.
Squeezing tightly,
In comforting embrace…
And that reassuring smile,
That glows upon her face.
Muting out the world,
Free of bells and alarms
Feels so damn good
Held within her arms.
